We believe that true impact comes from actions that protect nature, empower communities, and inspire meaningful change. Through the diverse projects we support, from wildlife conservation and plastic recycling initiatives to cultural programs and social responsibility efforts, we strive to create a legacy that goes beyond travel.
Every partnership reflects our values: transparency, responsibility, and a commitment to shaping a tourism model that is inclusive, ethical, and transformative. By joining forces with local organizations and global campaigns, we turn our vision into action, preserving biodiversity, fostering accessibility, and supporting Costa Rica’s cultural heritage and social well-being.
We support the protection of sea turtles nesting along the beaches of Montezuma, within the Romelia Wildlife Refuge on the Nicoya Peninsula. This hidden sanctuary, surrounded by tropical forest and pristine coastline, offers a unique setting for conservation and authentic immersion in nature.
Through our alliance with Romelia, CAST helps strengthen conservation efforts by promoting opportunities for volunteers and research assistants to join the refuge’s programs. Participants collaborate in sea turtle monitoring, scientific data collection, and nursery management to ensure hatchlings safely reach the ocean.
By encouraging new volunteers and research assistants to take part, CAST contributes to sustaining a refuge where science, community, and passion for nature come together to protect one of Costa Rica’s most iconic species.
We believe the best waste is the one never produced. With DonaTapa, we encourage communities to reduce single-use plastics and give new life to those that cannot be avoided. By collecting and donating plastic lids, we help transform them into recycled wood used for accessible beach walkways, amphibious chairs, benches, and other 100% recycled items.
For every kilo of lids collected, we donate ₡1,000, closing the loop of circular economy and supporting accessible tourism across Costa Rica. This initiative is aligned with national strategies such as the Solid Waste Management Plan, the Ecological Blue Flag Program, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and the ICT’s program Turismo para Todas las Personas, which promotes inclusive tourism as a universal right.
Imagine a place where more than 1,800 dogs, once abandoned and forgotten, now run free across green hills, cared for, loved, and given a second chance at life. This sanctuary, known as Territorio de Zaguates the “Land of Strays” is not just a shelter, it is a home filled with hope, wagging tails, and the promise of brighter days.
Every dog here carries a story of resilience. With food, veterinary care, and compassion, they are transformed from survivors into companions ready to share unconditional love with a family.
But this mission depends on generosity. Your donation is more than support; it is a lifeline. It means full bowls, medical treatment, safe spaces, and the chance for each dog to find the love they deserve.
Founded in 2006, ProParques is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening Costa Rica’s protected wild areas. For nearly two decades, it has worked to improve the visitor experience in national parks and to professionalize the staff who safeguard these natural treasures. Declared of public utility, ProParques provides practical solutions that ensure conservation and accessibility across the country’s most iconic landscapes.
In partnership with ProParques, CAST supports initiatives that enhance conservation and community engagement, helping to preserve biodiversity while promoting sustainable tourism. By joining forces, we contribute to building a future where Costa Rica’s protected areas remain vibrant, welcoming, and resilient for generations to come.
In the heart of Guanacaste, Las Pumas Rescue Center offers refuge to animals displaced by deforestation, accidents, and human activity. Here, every creature, whether a majestic jaguar, a playful monkey, or a fragile bird, receives care, rehabilitation, and the chance to return to the wild. For those who cannot, the center becomes a lifelong sanctuary where dignity and wellbeing are safeguarded.
Beyond rescue, Las Pumas inspires awareness through education and volunteer programs, teaching communities and visitors the importance of protecting Costa Rica’s wildlife.
Electronic waste is one of the most dangerous forms of pollution: devices contain heavy metals and toxic components such as lead, mercury, and cadmium, which can seriously harm both human health and the environment if not handled properly.
At CAST, we take responsibility by ensuring that all e-waste generated by our team is managed safely and sustainably. Our facilities serve as internal collection points for our team’s electronic waste, which is then delivered to SOLIRSA to be dismantled and processed under international standards, ensuring hazardous materials are neutralized, and recyclable parts are given a second life.
Beyond our internal efforts, we promote awareness in the wider community about the importance of proper e-waste management. We invite everyone to follow SOLIRSA’s social media and website to stay informed about their annual campaigns and join in responsible recycling practices.
Every recycled device is a step toward protecting people, communities, and the planet.
It is a non-profit association that develops long-term programs to support vulnerable populations, working toward a healthier, fairer society with greater opportunities for all.
Among its initiatives, CAST supports El Pesebre de San Martín, an effort created to shelter and accompany women of legal age who are pregnant and facing vulnerable or high-risk conditions. Here, they are guided through a dignified pregnancy, with access to essential services for themselves and their children once they are born.
This project embodies our shared commitment to compassion, equity, and lasting social impact, ensuring that every mother and child can begin their journey with hope and dignity.
Costa Rica is taking a pioneering step with the #StopAnimalSelfies initiative, aiming to end harmful practices involving wildlife and positioning the country as a global leader in responsible tourism.
At CAST, we have embraced this commitment and are currently training to become ambassadors for the campaign. Our mission is to raise awareness and inspire visitors to engage with nature respectfully, ensuring that every encounter protects both animals and people.
The message is clear: wild animals should never be fed, chased, touched, or disturbed. Loud noises, thrown objects, or attempts to capture their attention only cause stress and suffering. Direct contact also poses health risks, diseases can pass between humans and animals, making it essential to keep a safe distance and respect their natural behavior.
By joining this movement, we work to protect Costa Rica’s wildlife while inviting travelers to experience nature responsibly and authentically.
FUNDEICO (Foundation for the Cultural and Social Development of Costa Rican Indigenous Peoples) is a non-profit organization with more than two decades of work alongside indigenous communities. Its mission is to strengthen cultural identity while creating opportunities that improve quality of life in a way that respects tradition and community values.
One of its most impactful projects is the Training and Shelter Center in San José, designed to support children and young people from indigenous backgrounds who face social vulnerability. This space provides education, guidance, and safe conditions that foster personal growth.
By supporting FUNDEICO, we stand for equity and inclusion, helping preserve Costa Rica’s indigenous heritage while opening doors to a brighter future.
